Appointments
Klinik Guidelines
Please see the attached guidelines for using our online form or speak to a staff member who will help you.
Urgent Appointment
To request an urgent appointment for the same day (Monday to Friday):
- Use our online form above between 6.30am and 11am Monday to Friday. Please note that if you telephone us, we will take you through the same process and complete the form over the phone, which is likely to take longer.
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with and pass the information to a suitably trained member of staff to assess.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you. We may refer you to another NHS service if appropriate. You will not be offered an appointment at the time of your call but we will contact you and offer you an appointment the same day if the clinician has assessed your need as urgent. Please call after 11am for an urgent on the day appointment. If we have no more same day appointments available, we will direct you to another service or health professional for help.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
Routine Appointment
To request a routine appointment:
- Use our online system via the link at the top of this page
- phone us Monday to Friday from 2pm to 6.30pm
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 2pm to 6.30pm
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
We offer pre-bookable Saturday appointments, every 6 weeks at Queens Road Surgery and most other Saturdays at other health centres and surgeries within Leicester City. Please ask our receptionist for more details.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone us Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm to let us know
- use the online form above and find the tile which says "cancel"
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond - we will try to assist wherever we can
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
- if you need a chaperone
Home visits
Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible.
However, we can visit you at home if your health prevents you from attending our practices. Please ring or complete the online form before 10am to request a visit and let us know if your condition is urgent. A clinician will call you to assess your condition and arrange a visit that day if clinically advised.
